Welcome to the home page of Jaran Studios, creators of the DAWN OF THE DREAD FORCE comic book mini-series. With issue #1 scheduled for a fall 2010 release, DREAD FORCE features pencils and inks by up-and-coming star penciller Gerardo Sandoval, the ultra-talented James Raiz and Rob Armstrong of Transformers and Transformers Armada fame, colors by the amazing Danimation, Misty "Sayda" Coats and Simon "Seed" Bork, and story by veteran writer Kurt Hathaway.

Earth, 2099 A.D.

In their struggle to claim Earth's natural resources as their own, the Moon-colonies are on the verge of wiping out humanity on Earth with an army of huge, mechanized warriors known as the Dread Force!

But when the mechs start to think for themselves, and one of them allies himself with a ragtag group of human survivors, the leader of the Moon-colonies responds by sending in the ultimate Dread Force mech - a monstrous new killing machine, capable of unleashing devastation on an unimaginable scale!

With the fate of Earth hanging in the balance, the humans and their new mechanical ally attempt to make a desperate last stand against the Moon-colonies, but they will need more than luck to overcome the robotic nightmare that is upon them!

A futuristic, action-packed adventure, DAWN OF THE DREAD FORCE tells the breathtaking story of the ultimate showdown between man and machine!

GOOD NEWS, DREAD FORCE BACK IN PRODUCTION STARTING IN DECEMBER!

If you're a fan of DREAD FORCE you've probably noticed that the updates have been a bit sporadic for a while. One of our key creators' family members had some very serious health issues, which understandably caused him to have to put DAWN OF THE DREAD FORCE on hold for a while, but thanks to God, that situation has improved dramatically and he'll be back to work with us starting in December. To all of our DREAD FORCE fans out there, thanks for your patience during this long wait and things should be back to normal, shortly.

JARAN STUDIOS' ONLINE STORE IS UP AND RUNNING!

Yeah, I know, that may not be a major accomplishment for some people, but I think its pretty cool that the store is finally updated and functional. That means you no longer have to search through the bins at your local comic shop, desperately trying to find a copy of DAWN OF THE DREAD FORCE #0, because you can buy it right here! Well, you might not exactly be losing sleep, desperately searching for it, but if you want a book, or a poster, or a t-shirt, you now know where to find it. They make great gifts, too...

Okay, that's enough of me pimping the Online Store. Now, I want to take a minute to give a shout out to an artist who, though not associated with DREAD FORCE, is hot. That would be Nar! Make sure to stop by his website if you get a chance. Check out some of his pin-ups, they're hot!

FINALLY, AN UPDATE!

What's up, my people! I just wanted to take a few minutes and let everyone know the status of the DAWN OF THE DREAD FORCE book, as well as go over a couple of other interesting things we've got going on behind the scenes, here at Jaran Studios.

First of all, if you've been keeping up with DREAD FORCE, you're probably aware that issue #1's release has been pushed back quite a bit. Most of the delay has been because of some serious personal problems with a member of the creative team, which they had no control over. Be that as it may, I still wanted to apologize for the hold-up, and reassure you that the wheels are slowly beginning to turn again, so we should be able to start making some progress again, soon. It hasn't exactly been a smooth ride so far, so thanks to everyone for remaining patient during this process.

We did manage to add a new character profiles page today, which you can have a look at here.

One thing we've been considering during these last few months, is creating an 8" limited edition polystone/resin collectible statue of either NeoKhan or Tyrannaczar. But before getting ahead of ourselves, we want to know what you think. If you'd be interested in buying, or pre-ordering, one of these future masterpieces, for around 80 bucks a pop, please make sure to let us know, so we know how soon before we need to get started. And don't worry, if the quality of the statues is anything less than the quality of the artwork in our books, we'd never approve their production, anyway.

Almost forgot, DAWN OF THE DREAD FORCE was recently featured on The Electric Playground on G4 TV (see clip below), so we definitely owe them a big shout out for that. The online comics magazine, Extra Sequential, also did a piece about DF, which was much appreciated, so major thanks to those guys, too.

DAWN OF THE DREAD FORCE ISSUE #0 ON SALE NOW!

DAWN OF THE DREAD FORCE #0 is finally available in stores! After hooking up with Devil's Due Publishing this past summer, we've been able to take a break from the promotional side of the business and focus more on the creative process, and even though things have moved a little slower than we would've preferred (this is a totally independent project, keep in mind), the preview issue has arrived at long last.
